What are the possible outcomes that I can expect for my criminal case?

There are several ways that a criminal case can resolve. At the Law Office of Laura E. Kenney, we will work hard from the time we are hired to get the best possible results for you. If we are not able to negotiate an outcome that is satisfactory then we are prepared to take your case to trial to fight on your behalf in front of a jury of your peers. Possible results include: No File (the State evaluates the evidence and decides not to proceed with charges), Nolle Prosse (the State drops charges and files a document that they will no longer proceed with prosecution), Dismissal (a defense attorney files a motion to dismiss based on a legal deficiency and the Judge agrees), Reduction (through negotiation the Defense gets charges reduced to lower offenses), and Acquittal (the jury finds the State did not meet its burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt and finds the person not guilty).
